There is an important update for Greenhill Special School in Rhiwbina. The Council are consulting on
increasing the capacity of Greenhill Special School from 64 places to 96 places (over two sites). The enlarged school would operate as a single school for learners aged 11-18 across two sites including the current site at Heol Brynglas in Rhiwbina. There would be a new site at Ty Glas Avenue in Llanishen from September 2026.
The Council are seeking to delegate authority to the Director of Economic Development to acquire the freehold interests for land at adjacent to the existing Greenhill site, in line with an independent valuation, to allow the delivery of the replacement Greenhill Secondary School, subject to Ministerial approval for Welsh Government capital funding.
